Marilyn Jean Cassidy

Marilyn Jean Cassidy, age 79 of Clare, passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at the Horizon Senior Living in Clare.  Marilyn was born on May 9,1939, in 2-1-19 OBIT Cassidy PICCleveland, Ohio; the daughter of the late Kermit and Bernice (Beutel) Carlisle.  She was united in marriage to Harry Mailley in January of 1958 until he passed away in July of 1995.  Marilyn then married Duane “Bob” Cassidy in 2000 with him predeceasing her in 2012.  She achieved her dream of owning horses when she moved to a farm in Gladwin in 1974.  Mahogany and Penny (horses) joined the family in 1974.  When she married Bob she sold the farm and moved to Grayling; following Bob’s death she moved to Clare in 2012.  In Detroit Marilyn had been an Assistant Leader with the Girl Scout Horseback Riding Program.  In Gladwin she was active in the 4-H Leader Dog program and goat projects.  She had been a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Edenville enjoying the time spent in the Choir and then once moving to Clare belonging to the Our Lady of Hope Parish – St. Cecilia Site.

Marilyn is survived by her children Cynthia (Gregory) Kipe, Henry Mailley, Michael Mailley, Jeffrey (Jacqueline) Mailley, Amy Robinson and Robert Mailley; her siblings Robert Carlisle, Linda Martin, Kevin Carlisle and Joanne Tadych; 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 27, 2019 at the Clare Chapel of Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. with a Vigil Service at 7:30 P.M.  Services will be held on Monday, January 28, 2019 at 12 noon at the Our Lady of Hope Parish – St. Cecilia Site with Father Fred Kawka officiating.  To honor Marilyn’s love of horses her casket will be transported to the Church with a stop at The Horizon Senior Living by a horse drawn carriage.  Burial will follow in the afternoon at 3:30 P.M. in the Butman Township Cemetery in Gladwin.  In lieu of flowers donations are suggested to The Parkinson organization https://parkinson.org/.  The online guestbook is www.Stephenson-wyman
