Philip Mark Kruger

Philip Mark Kruger, age 63, of Farwell, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, March 10, 2019 at his home.  He was born the son of Verlen and Genevieve “Jenny” 3-15-19 OBIT Kruger(Seavolt) Kruger on July 13, 1955, in Lansing, Michigan.  Phil served a career of 22 years as a Civil Engineer in the US Air Force, serving in the Vietnam War Era, Grenada/Panama, and Desert Storm and Shield/ Persian Gulf War, retiring in 1994 as a Master Sergeant.  He was married to the former Truda Gilbert, and she survives him.  They moved to Farwell in 1995 and he had worked as a Plumber/Pipefitter with Terry Norris Plumbing.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Clare where he had served as a Trustee and was involved in the Children’s Ministries.  He enjoyed Shooting Sports, Marksmanship, anything involving Nature or being Outdoors, and riding bicycles.

Phil is survived by his wife Truda, his mother, Genevieve Kruger of Rosebush, his children, Michael (Jennifer) Kruger of Lansing, William Kruger of Oregon, Matthew (Taralyn) Kruger of Kalamazoo, Joshua (Angie) Schomp of Greensborough, NC, Sarah (Marcelin) Nikuvwayo of Lansing, and Zachary (Marcela) Schomp of Farwell, and six dear grandchildren.  Also surviving are his siblings, Nancy (Terry ) Norris, David (Delia) Kruger, Christine (Lynn) Prout, Dan (Kathie) Kruger, Jon (Connie) Kruger, Deborah (Joe) Allard, Mary (Ferrin) Williams, and Sarah (Steve) Sparkes.

A Celebration of Phil’s Life will be held on Saturday, March 30, with visiting beginning at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Clare, 302 Wilcox Parkway, Clare, Mi. 48617, the memorial service will be at 12 Noon with Pastor Douglas Blackwell officiating.
