Ray Wellman age 82, of Lake George, died at his home on Tuesday, March 19, surrounded by his family. He was born the son of Henry and Marie (Cowles) Wellman on Oct. 29, 1930 near Lake George, Michigan. He served with the US Navy During the Korean War and was a self employed Builder. Ray married Barbara Petro on Nov. 15, 1954 and she survives him. Ray had loved to hunt and fish and in his later years ” just watch the animals”, and will be remembered as a Great Story Teller.
Ray is survived by his children, Teresa (Kevin) Myers, John (Peggy) Wellman, Sue (Bob) Guzowski, and Janet (Barry Merritt) Tarnosky, his grandchildren, John and Jennifer Dent, Heaven and Jon Gardner, Jason Myer, Sara Guzowski, Thomas Guzowski, Joe and Kati Tarnosky and Paige Wellman, great grandchildren, Erika, Olivia, Chloe, Trinity, Gavin, Addison, Gabe, and Rebecca. Also surviving are his sisters, Sharlene(Floyd) Fair, Lela Markovich, and Wilma (Jim) Gibis. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Milo, Lee, Russell and sisters, Opal Munson, Lillian Crawford, and Joyce Strange.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Mar. 23, at 11 AM at the Clare Chapel of Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Young officiating.
