Robert “Bob” L. Pryor, age 83, a longtime resident of Clare, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at his home. Bob was born the son of the late Raymond and Agnes (Beatty) Pryor on March 24, 1931 in New Straitsville, Ohio. He was united in marriage to Anna B. Watson on December 10, 1955. Bob had worked at Holly Carburetor in Clare for 23 years and after its closing went to work at Dow Corning for 24 years; retiring in 1993. He enjoyed operating his Ham Radio and was a member of the Clare Rod and Gun Club.
Bob is survived by his wife Anna; children Sharon A. (Jerry) Russell, Starr A. (Chuck) Mayes, Rose M. (David C.) Ferguson and Chuck (Teresa) Pryor; 14 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and his sister Sara Urbiha of Freeland. Bob was predeceased by two grandchildren and his brother James “Bill” Pryor.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation with a private family memorial service will take place at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made towards the Clare Depot Restoration Project.
