3-28-24 OBIT Hale,Robert0001Long-time Harrison, MI resident Robert Rollin “Joe” Hale died on March 21, 2014 at the age of 75 at the Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center in Saginaw, MI.  Mr. Hale was born on February 19, 1939 in East Liverpool, OH to Winston and Maxine (Bell) Hale.  He was raised in Clare, MI and attended Clare schools. He served in the United States Army (1962-1964) and was honorably discharged on February 14, 1964.  A well-known and respected businessman in Harrison, Mr. Hale owned properties and businesses throughout the area including, Robert R. Hale, INC Real Estate and Builders and Hale Auto and served as a Hayes Township Trustee for many years.  Joe was also a licensed private airplane pilot, a skilled artist, builder and automobile technician and had a life-long love of cars.  He will be greatly missed by his family and his many friends.

Mr. Hale is survived by his daughters Terri (Bernie) Nevill of Clare, MI, Jan Renee’ (George) Ruby of Ashland City, TN; brother John D. (Ericanne Spence) Shaw of Okemos, MI; grandchildren Thomas (Angie) Schunk, Michael (Melissa) Schunk, Kimberly (Jim) Brewer, Amber (Bill) Glover,  Robert Freese , Michelle (Joshua) Hamblin; eight great-grandchildren.  Mr. Hale was preceded in death by his parents Winston R. Hale and Maxine Shaw, stepfather Irving R. Shaw; grandparents Willard and Marguerite Bell and George and Lois Tope; uncle Willard “Bus” Bell.

A celebration of life for Mr. Hale will take place Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at 2:00pm from Stocking Funeral Home with Pastor Jereme Bear officiating.  Military honors will conclude the service, conducted under the auspices of the VFW post 1075, Harrison, MI.  Gathering will begin at 1:00pm Tuesday at Stocking Funeral home and continue until the time of service.  Those planning a memorial contribution are asked to consider the Aleda E.
