Roger Lee Brokob

Roger Lee Brokob, age 84 of Farwell, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at his home. 

Roger was born the son of the late Henry and Marguerite (Sigler) Brokob on August 26, 1934 in Lansing.  He had served his Country in the Marine Corp. as a Sergeant from 1952 to 1957 aboard the Aircraft Carrier, the USS Philippine Sea.  Roger married the love of his life Katherine “Kate” McCrumb on February 21, 1958.  They started their 61 years of life together in Eagle; having moved to Saginaw to continue his 37 year career with Michigan Bell as a Regional Telecomm Engineer.  1979 found them moving to Farwell to live on 5 Lakes where Roger would spend the rest of his life.

  During his long life he enjoyed many hobbies including being a volunteer Scuba Instructor, an avid hunter; having made trips to the Western United States as well as enjoying time spent with his brothers and friends.  Rogers’s passion however was golfing with his wife and friends.  He spent time volunteering at the MidMichigan Medical Center in Clare.  Roger was a faithful member of the St. John Lutheran Church in Clare.

Roger is survived by his loving wife, Kate; his son William (Cynthia Grubish ) Brokob of Nashville, TN; his granddaughters Morgan Lynnae Brokob of Minneapolis, MN and Captain Kelsey (Captain Montana) Story of North Pole, AK; 2 brothers Ronald (MaryAnn) Brokob of Lansing and Reynolds (Roanne) Brokob of Eagle; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.  Roger was predeceased by his stepbrother Ronald Theodorski.

A Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at the St. John Lutheran Church in Clare with Pastor Andrew Ewald officiating. 

Visitation will be at the church from 10 AM until the time of service at 11 AM.  Military Honors will be presented following the services at the Church.  Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, or to the St. John Lutheran Church.  Arrangements were handled by the Clare Chapel of Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home.  On-line condolences may be left at
