Rose F. Kapplinger, age 86 of Farwell, passed away Saturday, September 28, 2013 at the MidMichigan Medical Center in Midland. Rose was born the daughter of Frederick and Rosella (Spicer) Athey on March 26, 1927 in Clare County’s Arthur Twp. She was united in marriage to Morris Kapplinger on July 6, 1946. She was a graduate of Beaverton High School. Rose had worked at Michigan Bell Telephone and at Evart Products from November of 1972 to April of 1988. She was a member of the Clare Rebekah’s and was a member of the Clare Church of the Nazarene.
Rose is survived by her husband Morris; children Jarvis (Donna) Kapplinger, Pamela Kapplinger; grandchildren Kayla Kapplinger, Jeff (Nina) McQuiston, Shannon ( Alissa) McQuiston, Valorie Owens, and Tyler Owens, five great grandchildren, her brother, Carl, and sister, Violet Davis. Rose was predeceased by her son Kevin, her daughter Sandra; and siblings Ralph, Lloyd, Paul, Harold, Fern, Ilo, Ellen, Dale, Helen and Edna.
Services and visitation were held at the Clare Church of the Nazarene. Visitation was Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. The funeral service took place on Wednesday at 1 P.M. with Pastor Jim Young officiating. Burial was in the Cherry Grove Cemetery in Clare. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Arrangements were handled by the Clare Chapel of Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home.
