Shirley Jean Beemer

Shirley Jean Beemer, age 68, of Farwell, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2019 at MidMichigan Medical Center Midland, after a long battle with cancer.  Shirley was born the daughter of Francis and Velma Grace (Blades) Armstrong on May 18, 1951 near Gladwin.  She married William “Bill” Beemer on December 31, 1979 in Harrison who survives her.  Shirley had worked in hospitality, as a barmaid or waitress at several area venues including Big Al’s in Lake, Ruckle’s, over 20 years at Firefly Golf, and at the Ideal Theater.  Shirley was a member of the Clare United Methodist Church; she was an active member of the Ladies of the Moose at the Clare Moose Lodge.  She loved Shopping, Reading and belonging to the Red Hat Ladies.

Survivors include her husband, Bill, children, John (Kim) Beemer, Bill (Tracy) Beemer Jr., Lori Beemer, Becky Beemer, Alice (Rich) Los, Elizabeth Farrow and Emily Farrow; her siblings, Alan (Muriel) Armstrong of N.C., Vickie Wheeler of Gladwin, Sheri Renus of Gladwin, Judy Dull of Beaverton, Candi (Dennis) Kelsey of Weidman, Linda (Mike) Aldridge of Gladwin, and Eugene Farrow of Lake; 15 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather Donald Farrow, a stillborn son, and her siblings, “Chink”, Tim, Roger, Patty, Alanna, Terry, Tom, Mike and Sue Hooper-Bard.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Clare United Methodist Church with Pastor John Kasper officiating.  Friends may meet with her family on Wednesday at the Clare Chapel of Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.  Memorials are suggested to her husband William Beemer.  On-line guestbook at www.stephenson-wyman.com
