Shirley Scott

Shirley Scott, 87, of Farwell, beloved wife of the late Vernon Scott, passed away on April 6, 2018, surrounded by her family. Shirley was born on March 21, 1931, 4-13-18 OBIT Scott PICin Detroit, MI, to the late Howard and Cora Cowen.

Shirley moved to Farwell in 1987 after raising her family in Brighton, MI.

Shirley loved to dance and garden. Shirley was a member of the National Square Dance Association, Farwell Red Hat Strutters and United Methodists Church.
Shirley is survived by her children Vernie (Dan) Seach, of CA., David Scott, of Commerce Township, MI., Bruce (Paula) Stribbell, of Lake Orion, MI., Kurt (Maria) Stribbell, of Taylor, MI., Faith Brady, of Commerce Township, MI., and Vernon (Gail) Scott, Jr., of Milford, MI.

Other survivors include twelve of her grandchildren Danielle Seach, Brenda Jasper, Tony and Michael Heil, Andrea, Justin, Hermes, and Casey Stribbell, Anna Brady, and Jennifer, Hannah, and Reed Scott, her three great-grandchildren Makayla, Allison, and Luke Lasiter, and her Great-Great-grandchild Mercedes Lasiter.  Shirley was preceded in death by her daughter Audrey Clark, her sons Gary, Dennis, Kenneth, and Richard Scott, her grandchildren Shannon Brady and Jonathon Clark, and her brothers Alton and Fred Cowen.

A funeral service in honor of Shirley will take place on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at the Farwell United Methodist Church at 1:00 P.M., with Pastor Martin Cobb officiating.

Burial will follow in the Surrey Township Cemetery of Farwell.  Friends may visit with the family on Friday, April 13 at the Farwell chapel of the Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. and from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
