Thomas John Gyulveszi, age 68 of Lake, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at the Masonic Pathways in Alma. Thomas was born the son of Michael and Lillian (Smith) Gyulveszi on October 20, 1944 in Detroit. He was united in marriage to Gale “Diane” Smith on June 22, 1968 in Trenton. Thomas had served in the Navy on the Aircraft Carrier U.S.S. Forrestal during the Vietnam War. Thomas and Diane had moved to Lake from Taylor in 1984 to own and operate the Lake Roller Rink. Prior to operating the Roller Rink, Thomas had worked as a Systems Electronic Technician at a Steel Manufacturing Plant downstate. Besides being an excellent roller skater; Thomas enjoyed hunting, fishing and painting. He had belonged to the Clare Area Bass Anglers Association.
Thomas is survived by his wife Gale “Diane”; children Keith (Jen Jen) of Clare and Stacy (Composure) Gyulveszi of Lansing; his grandchildren Sabrina, Brendan, John Thomas, Sascha, Luke, Taylin, Anthem and Zsa Zsa; two sisters Glenna (Ernie) Semak of Brownstown and Janice (Roger) Campbell of West Branch as well as many nieces, nephews, family and good great friends. Thomas was predeceased by his parents, a son Clayton Thomas and sisters Claudia and Lois.
Services and visitation will be held on Friday, August 16, 2013 at the Clare Chapel of Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 3 P.M. with the service to start at 6 P.M.
