Thomas L. Peek, age 51 of Clare, passed away Friday, June 14, 2013 at Covenant Healthcare – Cooper Campus in Saginaw.
Thomas was born the son of Fredrick John and Mary (Thacker) Peek on May 26, 1962 in Dearborn.
Thomas had worked for the City of Clare Department of Public Works, been a logger and had worked as a Mechanic/Bus Driver and Maintenance Man for Clare Public Schools for 22 years.
Thomas had lived a full life in 51 short years; he enjoyed riding his motorcycle, scuba diving, skydiving, being an amateur pilot, hunting and canoeing. Life to Thomas was an adventure, he had swam with the Manatees; he was a dreamer and an outdoorsman.
Thomas will be remembered for being selfless, kindhearted and a friend to all. He will also be remembered for being very opinionated and right, always right and willing to prove it.
Thomas is survived by his life partner Suzanne Schwach; his sons Thomas Peek, Jr. of Clare, Doren Peek of Rosebush and Justin Peek of Mt. Pleasant; his eight grandchildren who were very important to him; siblings Fredrick Peek, Andrew Peek, Niaomi Weathers, Darlene Peek and Tim Merryman; his friend/brother Doren Kempher; as well as numerous other family and friends.
Thomas was predeceased by his parents, a brother Justin and a son Robert Oswald.
Services will take place on Thursday, June 20, 2013 at 2 P.M. at the Clare United Methodist Church with Pastor Jim Shuster officiating.
Burial will be in the Wise Twp. Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2-8 P.M. at the Clare Chapel of Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home and prior to the services at the church beginning at 10 A.M. Thursday.
