Otto Lewis John Burmeister, Jr., age 73 of Clare, passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at his home surrounded by family. Otto was born the son of Otto Lewis John and Florence E. (Hess) Burmeister on July 27, 1940 in Centerline. He was united in marriage to Marcia K. Myers on February 28, 1959. Otto has spent the last 40 years in the concession business, he enjoyed serving the public.
Otto is survived by his wife Marcia; children Kreg (Renee) of Mt. Morris, Scott (Karen) of Gladwin and Linda (John) Nyquist of Cheboygan; 9 grandchildren Sheena (Steve) LaBelle, Talon Burmeister, Silas Burmeister, Destiny (Jerome) Anderson, Hunter Burmeister, Jay Burmeister, Kay Burmeister, Christopher (Dana) Burmeister and John Burmeister; four great grandchildren; his siblings Roy (Hilda) and Christine (Lee) Greenacre and his brother-in-law Jack Mann. Otto was predeceased by his parents, an infant son baby Ot and his sister Carol Mann.
Services for Otto will take place on Monday, January 20, 2014 at 2 P.M. at the St. John Lutheran Church in Clare with Pastor Paul C. Fetzer officiating. Burial will follow and be held privately in the Cherry Grove Cemetery in Clare. Visitation will take place at the Clare Chapel of Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home on Sunday from 5-9 P.M.
