Paint a chair scheduled

The Clare County Arts Council is sponsoring a chair painting workshop in September. A fifty year old oak child’s chair will be sanded and ready to paint for a fee

of $35. The workshop will take place in the basement of the Depot. The newly restored Train Depot is located on 4th Street across from the water tower in Clare.
The workshop hours are as follows:

Tuesday, September 11at 6:30 PM
Wednesday, September 12 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon
Thursday, September 13 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Monday, September 17 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Tuesday, September 18 from 12 noon to 4:00 p.m.

You may bring a drink/snack or lunch to the sessions.

You do not have to attend every session. You can come for an hour or two at a time or you have the option of bringing your chair home to work independently.

Multiple colors of paint and brushes will be provided. However, if you have any water based house paint or art acrylic paints of a color that you would like to use, please bring them along for yourself or to share. Also bring any small art brushes that you are used to using. Lots of pictures will be available to inspire you as well as some stencils for you to use.

Carol Crawford is a member of the Clare County Arts Council and will be instructing the workshop. There are 20 chairs available. To sign up call Carol at 989-386-3861 or email her at ccswamp@yahoo.com as soon as possible prior to the first session on September 11th.
