Patricia Sharon Thayer

Patricia Sharon Thayer, 71, of Clare, went to be with our Lord on July 26, 2012 after struggling with her declining health.  She was born at home in Rochester, Mi., to the late John and June Marie Pihajlic.  she married Robert Thayer on June 26, 1965.

Patricia’s life was dedicated to her family.  She enjoyed painting, drawing, and collecting.  She was a member of the Secular Order of St. Francis, the St. Cecilia Church and their Ladies Guild, and the T.O.P.S.

Survivoers include her husband of 47 years, Robert, three daughters, Paulette Thompson of Galesburg, Michelle (Anthony) Jewell of Harrison, Nichole Moll (fiance Clark Alexander) of Farwell, one son Anthony (Shanee) Thayer of Clare, 12 grandchildren, Chelsea and TJ Schanhals, Seth and Kiri Jewell, Karina, Kailin, Nikolas, and Liliana Thompson, Andrew ans Stephanie Moll, Alicia Alexander and Alyx Thayer.  Also surviving are two sisters, Yvonne Goddess of Caro and Rose (Joe) Carrenza of Pontiac, two brothers, Mike (Carol Pihajlic of Lake Orian, and David Pihajlic of Pontiac, sisters-in-law, Kathleen (Craig) Jackson of Clare, Jane (Danial) Pyrett of Clio, and Ann (Tom) James of Warren, and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, beloved in-laws, Arthur and Marjorie Thayer and an infant sister, Virginia.

Funeral services were held on Monday, July 30, 2012 at 11 AM from the St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Clare.  Burial was in the St. Cecilia Cemetery.  Friends met with her family on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Clare Chapel of Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home where a scripture service took place at 7:30 PM and the Rosary was recited at 8 PM.  If you were unable to attend, you are invited to sign the Thayer family’s Tribute wall at www.stephenson-wyman.com
