Many community leaders, new staff members, and area residents attended the official Ribbon Cutting last Thursday afternoon to welcome the new facility to the area.

An Open House featuring tours of the new 43,000 square foot facility is scheduled for August 24th from 3 to 6 p.m., but General Manager Rachel Bartlett said those interested in touring the facility at any time can call her at 989-903-5405 or Certified Assisted Living Director Wendy McJames at 989-339-0402.

“Everyone is invited to tour the facility during our Open House,” Rachel said. There will be hors d oeuvres and drinks for those attending.

Attendees at the Pioneer Golden Estates ribbon cutting were invited to enjoy refreshments and have a first look at the new facility.

Pioneer Golden Estates is located at 312 McGuirk Drive, behind and between Mancino’s and the Days Inn. The facility is owned by Rachel’s husband Jason, his brother John Bartlett, who are both dairy farmers from Sterling.

In fact Pioneer Golden Estates is the second facility of this type in Northern Michigan. Rachel is also a partner and co-founder of Eden Fields Assisted Living and Memory Care in Standish, which opened in June of 2016.

In addition to apartments, Pioneer Golden Estates includes a communal dining, a community room, activity rooms and an in-house beauty shop. The building is completely surrounded by sidewalks for easy walking and viewing the gardens. The site of the facility is wooded with a rural atmosphere. “It is a natural setting, we have lots of wildlife on the property,” Rachel added.
