Pioneers split with MPSH

Clare wrapped up its regular season with a split at Sacred Heart on Thursday, May 22, winning game one 4-0 and losing game two 5-4.

Katya Halfmann got the win in game one, giving up no runs on four hits, three strikeouts and one walk.

Laura Walton had the lone hit for the Lady Pioneers in the win.

MacKenzie Thayer took the loss for Clare in game two, with Molly Merillat, Walton, Emily Baer, Morgan English, Bailey Reger and Sierra Benchley all getting hits for the Pioneers.

Clare (22-10 overall, 11-3 JPC) plays in the Beaverton division three district on Saturday. The Pioneers open play with Pinconning with Beaverton and Standish-Sterling on the other side of the bracket.
