Two people were stabbed in an altercation over house rules at an adult foster care home in Isabella County’s Union Township last Sunday.

A press release from Isabella County Sheriff Michael Main said Lonney Richard Lavoye, 25, a resident of the home was arrested by Sheriff’s Department Deputies, who were called to the home in the 4000 Block of East Airport road in Union Township.

When they arrived they found a 37-year-old female “bleeding from several puncture wounds.” She was an employee at the foster care home. They also found a 47-year-old resident of the home who had been stabbed in his thigh.

The release said Lavoye had become upset because he was not following certain house rules. “Layove became upset and began to stab the female worker,” Main’s release said. The second victim, also a resident of the home, intervened in an attempt to stop the assault on the female worker and was stabbed during the altercation.

Lavoye surrendered as soon as deputies arrived on the scene.
Both victims were taken by ambulance to McLaren Hospital in Mt. Pleasant.
In Isabella County Court Monday, Lavoye was charged with Assault with intent to great bodily harm less than murder. His bond was set at $600,000/ten percent.
The incident is still under investigation.
