A rear-end collision caused minor injuries for two Harrison people last Saturday.

According to a release from the Clare County Sheriff’s Department, the accident happened around 11:45 a.m. September 21 on Clare Avenue (Old U.S. 27) just north of Colonville Road in Grant Township.

Deputies reported that Ronny Davis, 20, of Harrison was driving a 2002 Ford Taurus and unable to stop in time to avoid hitting a 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by Larry Lancaster, 73, of Weidman.

Lancaster and a passenger in his vehicle sought treatment for their own injuries. Davis and his 19-year-old passenger were taken to MidMichigan Medical Center – Clare with minor injuries by Mobil Medical Response Ambulance.

Deputies said all occupants of the vehicles were wearing seat belts and that alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
The Clare Fire Department also assisted at the scene.
