The Party Dock in Harrison is now open for business at 1470 Clare Ave., Harrison. There are still a few items that haven’t arrived yet, but truckloads of products are arriving every day to the delight of the Owners Mary and Mike Pergl.
The beer cases are now fully stocked and the liquor shelves are expected to be packed full in the next two days. There will be a variety of snacks, beer, liquor, bait and other general necessities for sale. The store will soon be able to sell lottery as well as coffee and cappuccinos.
Mary and her son Mike bought the closed up store a year ago and cleaned it up so it could be reopened to once again serve the Harrison community. The party store had been a fixture on the road into Harrison for many years before it closed its doors.
“It was closed down for about five years,” Mary Pergl said. “It felt like it was a challenge to me to bring something that was dead and bring it back to life.”
The store is constructed with beautiful wood paneling throughout with wonderful wood pillars holding up the roof along the porch.
“We have gotten a lot of complements from people on the way it looks,” Mary said.
The store will be open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
