Road Commission states winter policies

January 18, 2013

January 28 The Michigan Department of Transportation will host an open house-style meeting to provide information about US-10 Business Route (BR) improvements in Clare and Isabella counties, expected to begin later this year.

The meetings will be held at Clare City Hall in the large conference room from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. and from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and MDOT staff will be on hand to explain the coming project.

The meetings will provide an opportunity for the public to meet with Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) staff and learn about planned corridor improvements on US-10 BR (Fifth Street and/or Saginaw Road) from west of Sunset Avenue to east of the US-10 interchange, in Clare and Isabella counties.

The proposed project includes milling and resurfacing to increase safety, along with improving access management, ride quality and drainage. The project also includes adding a center left-turn lane from Sunset Avenue to Clarabella Road.

The US-10 BR corridor will have one lane of alternating traffic maintained under temporary signals or flag control. Business and residential driveways adjacent to US-10BR will remain open for the duration of this project.

MDOT is seeking public input to help recognize and address any concerns regarding this proposed work.
