Robert W. “Bob” Denoyer, passed away on July 4, 2012 at his home in Sterling Heights, MI. He was 83 yrs old. He was the beloved husband of the late Helen and Camilla Denoyer and the loving brother-in-law and companion of Judy Denoyer. He will be greatly missed by his children Robert Jr., Richard (Terese), Karen (John) Cocuzza, Michael (Micki), Graham (Patti) Colbath, Jane (Richard) Saunders and Edward (Judy) Colbath. He was a grandfather of 17 and great grandfather of 26.
He was the dear brother of Elaine (the late Jerome Schmidt) and was predeceased by sisters Geraldine Donahoe, Lorraine Elsey and brother Donald Denoyer.
Bob was a member of the Lake Eagles, Lake Rod & Gun Club and the Eight Point Lake
Property Owners Association where he was a shore representative for many years and
served on several committees. He and Camilla owned the Eight Point Lake Resort from
1978-1985 where he made many friends and became a vital part of the community. They started the Flag Raising ceremony back in 1978 and continues to be a big part of the July 4th activities at Eight Point Lake. Ironically, he passed away on his favorite holiday-Independence Day. Patriotism was very important to him as he was a veteran -he was a member of the Army 82nd Airborne Division.
As we reflect on the memories of Bob, certain words come to our minds— humor, laughter, singing, life of the party. To carry on as he would want us to, there will be a memorial followed by a hot dog roast and sharing of memories on Saturday, September 15, 11:00 a.m., at the Eight Point Lake Clubhouse (corner of Rock Rd & Garfield Rd).
