Rosebush man arrested for assaulting fleeing wife

March 27, 2015

On Tuesday, March 24th Troopers from the Mount Pleasant State Police Post and Deputies from the Isabella County Sheriff’s Department responded to a 911 call for help.  A woman reported she was driving a pickup truck down an Isabella County Road with her husband in the bed attempting to get to her.

The 56 year old Rosebush man had smashed the rear window out of the pickup truck and reportedly physically assaulted the female driver before taking control of the vehicle.  The man reportedly drove the woman to a residence in Isabella County where a family member attempted to intervene.  The man reportedly assaulted the family member before a second family member separated the subjects.

Troopers and Deputies cooperated with the Isabella County Central Dispatch Center to locate the residence, and made contact with all parties involved.

The suspect was uncooperative and had removed his clothing in an attempt to wash off evidence of the physical assaults.  He refused multiple offers to clothe himself, and adamantly refused to cooperate.  He refused to allow Troopers to cover him so he was transported and lodged at the Isabella County Jail without them.
The man is lodged on 2 requested charges of Domestic Assault and 1 requested charge of Malicious Destruction of Property.
