Harris Schaub, 2012 Farwell High School graduate and former Career and Technical Education (CTE) Construction Trades student, was recently awarded the $400 Michigan Construction Teacher’s Association Scholarship to use towards school, books, and tools to start his own business. Schaub completed the Construction Trades program during his senior year of high school. He is currently attending Mid Michigan Community College and plans to acquire the Michigan Builders License and eventually earn a degree in nursing.
Schaub said growing up around individuals in the construction field, combined with his experience in the CTE program, led him to where he is today. “I strongly encourage others to go into the CTE program,” he said, “It helped me learn the basics of construction and also taught me discipline.”
