The Clare varsity track teams hosted an invitational on Friday, with the boy’s team coming in seventh and the boy’s team coming in 12th.
The boys were led by Alex Haupt who took ninth in the 100 meter dash, with Haupt also placing fifth in the 200. Brock Demo took ninth in the 800 and Devin Ayers took fifth in both the 110 and 300 hurdles. Taylor Meixner also added a fifth place spot in the high jump, Patrick Hughes took fifth in the shot put and Jake Boynton took sixth in the discus.
The girls’ were led by Victoria Harper with a fifth place finish in the 800 meter run (2:32) and a sixth place finish in the 1600 (5:33). Krysten Kruskamp placed fifth in the long jump
On Wednesday, April 26 Clare competed in a double-dual meet against Farwell and Gladwin, topping Farwell but falling to Gladwin.
Harper was a winner in the 1600 and 3200 and the relay team of Harper, Robyn Stanley, Madison McPhee and Brooke Beatty also won with a time of 11:21 in the 3200 relay.
