Colville, Taylor lead Harrison to second

The Harrison track teams began a meet in Houghton Lake on Wednesday, April 17 and after getting suspended due to lightening, finished the meet on Monday, April 22.

The Lady Hornets placed second in the three-way Jack Pine Conference meet, with Meridian winning a Houghton Lake coming in third.

Brooke Colville showed her dominance in the hurdles, taking first in the 100 with a time of 18.35 and took first in the 300 hurdles with a 51.91. She also added a first place finish in the long jump with a leap of 16’11″.

Katelyn Sherrick came in first in the 200 meter dash with a time of 29.04 and Rae Bundoff placed second in the 3200 meter run.

Ericka Heckman took third in the 100 meter dash and jumped to a third place finish in the high jump.

Oliva Sharp won the discus with a toss of 77’11″, and Christine Mason took second in the pole vault. Heckman and Sherrick took second and third in the long jump.

Harrison’s 3200 relay team took first, as did their 800 relay. The 400 relay team placed second and the 1600 meter relay team placed third, but individuals were not listed.

The Hornets took second place in the boy’s portion as well, with Meridian winning and Houghton Lake coming in third.

Brendon Taylor won the 1600 and Dalton Macormott placed third, Jacob Stuhr won the 110 hurdles  with Zach Nowland coming in third, Trenton Searight took third in the 400 and Cody Rodgers won the 300 hurdles.

Brendon Taylor won the 800, with Macdormott and Taylor swept the top two spots in the 3200. Stuhr placed third in discus, won the high jump and Rodgers took second in pole vault.

Harrison had a 3200 relay team take second, and the 800 meter relay team of Cody Rodgers, Nowland, Trenton Searight and Stuhr came in second, with the 400 meter relay team of Gavin Rhodes, Rodgers, Nowland and Nairobi Thomas placing second, while in the 1600 meter relay a team of Josh Wilson, Phillip Hale, Cameron Sherrick and Searight took third.
