Farwell High School is proud to announce Joshua Gross as Valedictorian and Keegan Rohdy as Salutatorian for the Class of 2013.
Joshua Gross is the son of John and Lisa Gross of Farwell. He has been involved in Band, Bowling, Basketball, Track, Cross Country, and National Honor Society. Josh also participates in Winter Indoor Track and is a member of his Church Youth Group. Active in the community, Josh volunteers at The Springs Camp during the summer and at Love, Inc. He works in the family business at both Gateway and Eagle Pharmacies. Having participated in the dual enrollment program, Josh has earned over 25 college credits towards his pre-pharmacy major.
Josh has received many awards throughout his time in high school. He has earned his academic letter and bars, his band and varsity letter, and is part of the Jack Pine Conference All-Academic First Team. Athletically, Josh was inducted into the Farwell Athletic Hall of Fame for Bowling (High Baker Game/Series, High Team Game/Series) and for Track (3200 relay record). He was honored this spring as part of the All-Academic Team in Bowling.
After graduation, Josh plans to attend Ferris State University as an Honors Student to pursue a degree in Pharmacy. He has been awarded the Dean’s Scholarship at Ferris State.
Keegan Rohdy is the son of Gary and Amy Rohdy of Farwell. He has been involved in Football, Track, Winter Track, National Honor Society, Class Council, Advanced Media, Yearbook, and Journalism. Having participated in the dual enrollment program, Keegan has earned 25 college credits and was inducted this spring into Mid-Michigan Community College’s Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. Keegan’s favorite community service project is Mid-Michigan Community Action Agency’s Project Christmas. He also volunteers at football youth camps, helps with middle school track meets, and works concessions. Keegan is employed at the Farwell Trading Post.
Keegan was selected as Farwell’s DAR Good Citizen and was a state of Michigan finalist for the Wendy’s Heisman Award. He has earned his academic letter and bars, his varsity letter, and is part of the Jack Pine Conference All-Academic First Team. Athletically, Keegan is a member of the Farwell Athletic Hall of Fame for Football (Most Touchdowns/Points in a Game) and for Track (100 Dash and 400 Relay record). He has been MVP Sprinter in track the past three years and was voted MVP Special Teams in football his freshman year and MVP for offense both sophomore and senior years.
After graduation, Keegan plans to attend Mid-Michigan Community College for one more year to complete his MACRAO and then transfer to Central Michigan University to pursue a degree in Accounting. He has been awarded the Laker Distinction Scholarship at Mid-Michigan Community College.
