Harrison narrowly topped Farwell 7-6 in pre-district play on Wednesday night, ending the Eagles’ season while Harrison moves on to Saturday’s district action in Standish-Sterling. Stats were not available at press time.
On Friday, the Hornets were swept by visiting Evart 7-4 and 8-3.
Matt Haskell was the losing pitcher in game one, pitching seven innings, giving up seven runs, zero earned on five hits and four strikeouts.
Jacob Patterson had two hits and two runs, Logan Tenwalde had two hits and two RBI, Zach Anderson had two hits, with Tom Nunnally, Haskell, Dylan LaPorte, Cody Cooper, Allen Poole and Justin Yager all getting one hit apiece. Cooper had an RBI with Haskell and Yager scoring one run apiece.
Anderson suffered the loss in game two, pitching four innings, giving up five runs, four earned on six hits, two strikeouts and two walks. Poole pitched two innings of relief, striking out two batters.
Tenwalde and Cooper both had two hits and two RBI, Nunnally had one hit, one run and stole two bases, Patterson, Haskell, LaPorte and Gage Agin all had one hit.
“We were not focused today or ready to play,” Harrison head coach Tom Whitfield said. “We came out the same way against Farwell last week. Our skill level is much better than we have shown the last several games.”
