Two men who had pulled off  the freeway were sleeping at the park and ride near US 127 in Union Township early Sunday morning, when they awoke to find a man with what appeared to be a hand gun tapping on their window.

The victims told deputies from the Isabella County Sheriff’s Department that the suspect ordered them to give him their belongings. They turned over some personal belongings that were in a bag and a small amount of cash.

The suspect, described as a black male with a mustache, about 4 foot ten inches tall and in his 20s, reportedly fled on foot in a northwest direction.
The incident was reported May 22 at 5:10 a.m., about 30 minutes after it happened, a release from ICSD Sheriff Michael Main said.

A K9 unit called to the scene, located several of the stolen items, but “the suspect has not been located, the release said, “and the case is still under investigation.”
Isabella County deputies were assisted at the scene by Mt. Pleasant Police and the Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Police.
