Runs were at a premium in Tuesday’s division three pre-district game in Beaverton between Pinconning and Harrison. The fifth ranked Lady Spartans eeked one unearned run across the plate, which turned out to be enough to end the Lady Hornets’ season.
Allison Lipovsky suffered the loss for Harrison, giving up one unearned run on two hits and 11 strikeouts.
Kate Sherrick had a double, Savannah Allen and Mackenzie Lincoln had one hit each to lead the Hornet offense.
On Wednesday, despite the Hornets’ season technically being over, Harrison traveled to Gladwin, sweeping the flying G’s 8-7 and 8-6 in a Jack Pine Conference make-up date.
Lipovsky was the winner in game one, giving up four earned runs on six hits and 15 strikeouts.She also had a hit and an RBI on offense.
Sherrick had three hits, two runs and two stolen bases, Haley Sulla had three hits and two RBI.
Lipovsky got the win in game two, giving up three earned runs on five hits and 12 strikeouts. She chipped in four hits on offense, with a home run and four RBI.
Sherrick had two hits, scored twice and had two steals and Allen had two hits and two RBI.
Harrison finishes the season 24-9 overall and 8-6 in the JPC.
