Farwell residents are being asked to take a few minutes while they are at this year’s Lumberjack Festival and help create a master plan for Parks and Recreation.
A special booth will be set up at the festival both days to ask Village residents for their input in the development of a Master Plan for Parks and Recreation plans in the community.
For the past few month Village of Farwell officials, with the help of Leisure Planning and Solutions of Mt. Pleasant, have been working on the plan and want the communities input on what they would like to see developed in the Village. At the special booth, adults and older youngsters can complete a short survey, and younger children will be able to “draw their ideas” for park improvements.
When it is completed, the new Master Plan will be used as a framework in Village decisions about improvements. The completed plan will be submitted to the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.
With an approved master plan on file with the DNR, the Village will qualify for grant programs to fund park and recreation improvements.
