Clare handled Harrison easily in Tuesday night’s Jack Pine Conference baseball doubleheader, with the visiting Pioneers winning 26-3 and 10-0.
Logan Emery was the winning pitcher for the Pioneers, pitching five innings. Cody Cooper suffered the loss for Harrison.
James Baer had four hits, including a double and also had seven RBI. Emery had three hits, with Colton Punches, Nick Montini and Brock Swan getting two hits apiece.
The Hornets were led by Zach Anderson with a double, Dylan LaPortehad one hit and two RBI, Logan Tenwalde, Matt Haskell and Tom Nunnally all had one hit, with Nunnally also stealing a base.
Hunter Ruby, Punches and Charlie Bugbee all pitched for Clare in game two, combining for seven strikeouts. Haskell suffered the loss for the Hornets, striking out six batters.
Garrett Jenkins had three hits for Clare to lead the offense in game two, with Charlie Bugbee and Hunter Ruby adding two hits apiece.
Haskell had Harrison’s only hit in the game, with Nunnally stealing two bases.
Clare played at Ogemaw Heights on Thursday and hosts Gladwin on Tuesday.
Harrison played at Meridian on Thursday, playings in the Grayling tournament on Saturday and hosts Roscommon on Tuesday.
