The Clare varsity girls track team earned a pair of Jack Pine Conference wins on Wednesday, May 8, topping Beaverton 118-44 and Houghton Lake 102-55. The wins improved the Lady Pioneers’ record to 6-1.
Double winners in the event were Olivia Cooper in the 100 meter dash (13.5), Madison McPhee in the 400 meter (1:06), Victoria Harper in the 1600 meter run (6:04) and 800 meter run (2:42), Robyn Stanley won the 3200 meter run (13:25), Kyrsten Kruskamp won the long jump (14’7”) the 100 hurdles (18.3) and the 300 hurdles (52.1).
April Painter won the discus (81’10”), and the 400 meter relay team of Kodi Humphrey, Mallory McDowell, Amanda Yats and Olivia Cooper also won. The 3200 meter relay team of Stanley, Brooke Beatty, Olivia Walworth and Harper took first as well, as did the 800 meter relay team of Humphrey, Yats, Kruskamp and Cooper. Clare’s dominance in the relays continued with a win in the 1600 meter relay by the team of Humphrey, Harper, McPhee and Cooper.
The final conference meet is May 21 in Clare.
