Farwell dropped a pair of road games at Jack Pine Conference foe Meridian Tuesday night, falling 19-1 and 11-0.
The Eagles fell behind quickly in game one, giving up six runs in the top of the first and four in the top of the second. Farwell plated one run in the second, but Meridian continued to tack on runs, scoring five in the third and four in the fourth to enforce the 19-1 four inning mercy. Jordan Renner had Farwell’s only hit in the contest.
Game two stayed scoreless after the first inning but the Mustangs scored three runs in the second, two in the third and six in the fourth to pull off the 11-run win.
Austin Hickey had two hits for Farwell and Dylan Brown had one.
On Thursday, May 2 the Eagles fell to Roscommon 8-5 in game one but picked up a 10-1 win in game two to earn the JPC split.
Jacob Sutton suffered the loss in game one, pitching five 1/3 innings, giving up eight runs, seven earned on 11 hits, five strikeouts and two walks.
Brown and Sutton both had three hits for the Eagles, with Trent Marhofer adding two hits and four RBI. Hickey also had two hits in the game with Clay Forfinski getting one hit.
Hickey was the winning pitcher in game two, pitching five innings, giving up one earned run on two hits, six strikeouts and four walks.
Quincy Crawford and Marhofer both had two hits, with Marhofer adding two RBI. Sutton had one hit and two RBI, Walter Mosby and Devin Warner had one hit and one RBI and Cameron Otto had one hit.
Farwell plays at Grayling on Saturday and at Beaverton on Tuesday.
