Harrison falls in overtime at Rosco

Harrison nearly grabbed its first win of the season Friday night, but ended up falling to host Roscommon, 62-55 in a Jack Pine Conference boys’ basketball game that went to overtime.

The Bucks jumped to a 17-10 lead after the first put the Hornets returned the favor in the second to carry a 29-22 lead at the half.

Rosco bounced back with a good third quarter but the Hornets still led 34-33 entering the fourth. The Bucks tied the game at 50-all at the end of regulation and dominated the overtime session 12-5.

Bret Coughlin led Harrison with 17 points, Brody Lewis had 15, Adam Scherrer and Thomas Nunnally had six, Michael Taylor had five, Clay Dennis had four and Blayne Fowler had two.

On Wednesday, Dec. 17 Harrison fell at home to Beaverton in another JPC game, 62-27.

The Beavers led from the start, 15-6 after the first, 24-18 at the half and 35-23 entering the fourth.

Coughlin led the way with nine points, Lewis had six points, Cameron Scherrick netted four, Fowler and Taylor both had three and Nunnally had one.

Harrison (0-4 overall, 0-3 JPC) returns to play at Marion Jan. 5.
