The Harrison girls basketball team wasn’t able to pull off the upset against heavy district favorite Houghton Lake on Wednesday, March 6. The Lady Pioneers were battling the Lady Bobcats, who were undefeated at the time in a division three district semi-final at Meridian that night, coming up short 48-32 in a season ending setback.

The Lady Bobcats led 11-5 after the first quarter, 20-14 at the half and 34-24 entering the fourth. H-L used a 14-8 scoring edge in the fourth to finish off the Hornets.

The Hornets were led by Alexys Carlstrom with 25 points and eight rebounds while the Bobcats had Taylor Nutt get 13 points, seven rebounds and five blocks.
Houghton Lake went on to win the district championship on Friday, 60-40 over Pinconning but lost its regional semi-final game with Hart on Monday, 48-42. The Jack Pine Conference champions finished the year 21-1.

Harrison finishes the season 10-10 overall.
