The Clare volleyball team played a non-conference game with Pine River on Monday night. The host Pioneers claimed a victory in the battle, in four sets with scores of 25-14, 27-25, 17-25 and 25-21.

“Our passing was great, allowing setter Peyton Hubel to make some amazing assists,” head coach Shannon Zinser said.

The team had their offensive attack working all night, as they racked up 37 kills as a team, led by Kennedy Blackburn and Jenna Betts. The Pioneers were lethal behind the service line as well, blistering 14 aces, highlighted by several strong serves by Jayce Jordan and Jenna Betts.

Clare was back in Jack Pine Conference play on Wednesday in Roscommon, hosts Farwell on Monday and hosts Beaverton on Wednesday.
