Stone charged for drugs, auto theft

Vance Roydon Stone, 17, was arrested September 11 after deputies from the Clare County Sheriff’s Department executed a search warrant for stolen property and a possible marijuana grow operation on his West Norway address in Harrison.

Sheriff John Wilson said during the search, marijuana was found growing in the home’s basement and Stone was arrested on drug, larceny and stolen vehicle charges.

He was lodged at the Clare County Jail, and arraigned September 20 in 80th District Court on:

*one count of Delivery Manufacture of Marijuana, a four-year felony with up to a $20,000 fine;

*one count of Larceny in a building and one of Conspiracy to Commit Larceny in a Building, each count a four-year felony with a fine of up to $5,000;

*one count of Unlawful Use of a Motor Vehicle, and one count of Conspiracy to Commit Unlawful Use of a Motor Vehicle, each count a “High Court” misdemeanor with two options, two years or $1,500 fine or 90 days of $500 with a suspended license in each case.

*one count of Unlawful Driving Away of a Motor Vehicle and one count of Conspiracy to Commit Unlawful Driving Away of a Vehicle, each a felony with up to five years imprisonment and suspended license;

*one count of Larceny, more than $1,000 and less than $20,000 and one count of Conspiracy to Commit Larceny $1,000 to $20,000, each five-year felonies with fines of up to $10,000 or three times the value of the stolen property and additional $10,000 fines.
