It was another successful summer here at the Pere Marquette District Library! With weekly drawing classes, performers, storytimes and movies, there were many ways to participate in this year’s Summer Reading Program.
Throughout June and July, we talked about dreaming BIG. During final storytime, the question was asked, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” Most often the answer was a teacher, veterinarian, doctor, mailman, policeman, or firefighter. We’re going to explore these and many more career choices this fall during Little Workers Preschool Storytime. This program will be held on Thursday mornings at 10:30 in our lower level. Children ages 3-5 will have the opportunity to listen, learn, create, and share with their peers.
If your child is not ready to sit for storytime, they have Busy Bees every Friday at 10:30. Families can chat and play in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. A short, silly storytime is offered for willing participants. Coffee is provided for the adults, toys are provided for the children.
School will be starting back up in a few days and they have activities planned for Tuesday afternoons at 3:30. On September 11, they will pop popcorn and show, The Three Stooges, in the lower level theater. Tweens and teens are welcome to play games on September 18. There will be a variety of board games, card games and wii games available, plus, children will be able to make their own mini pizzas for a tasty after school snack. Legos are back on September 25! Get your thinking caps on and get your creative juices flowing, and build famous landmarks! The afterschool programs are intended for school age children.
There is no registration for any of the listed programs. Call 386-7576 for more information.
