Ryan Scherbaty, 26, of Lake, was arrested Sunday after homeowner found him asleep in his home.
Deputies, called to the scene around 8 a.m. by the homeowner found Scherbaty had entered the home through an unlocked door to sleep for the night.
They said alcohol was a factor in the incident.
Scherbaty was arrested for illegal entry and lodged in the Clare county Jail. He was arraigned May 5 by Magistrate Karen Willing, plead guilty, and was sentenced to 90 days in jail with 89 days suspended and credit for one day served.
He remains lodged in the Clare County Jail on an unrelated charge from another county.
