Rep. Joel Johnson, 97th District, takes time out of his busy schedule to meet with local Exchange Students for a visit at the Capitol Building in Lansing. Rep. Johnson, and his assistant Aaron Baylis, made it possible for 3 local exchange students to get an inside look into Michigan’s Capitol and to see our Legislators at work. Nidhi Suva from India, Angel Heras from Spain and Britta Roll from Germany had the privilege to visit the Capitol in Lansing October 10th., 2013. Rep. Johnson, 97th District, met with the students, gave them a personal tour of the Capitol building, and explained how the Michigan Legislature functions. Students were allowed to observe an active session of the House of Representatives and were publicly recognized by Rep. Johnson. Members of the House applauded the students and made this a very special visit for them.
Angel Heras is attending Clare High School, Britta Roll is attending Farwell High School and Nidhi Suva attends Evart High School (lives with her host family in Farwell). Nidhi is a YES Scholarship Student sponsored by the US Dept. of State during her exchange in the US. All students are part of an exchange visitor program through ASSE International Student Exchange.
