Two Wise Township teens, Gary Lee Krohn-Wood, 18, and his brother, a 15-year-old juvenile, were arrested Sunday after two separate family altercations over a vehicle.

State Police troopers were called to assist Clare County Sheriff’s Deputies around 3:15 p.m. February 16 at an address in Wise Township of Clare County to locate a vehicle and the two suspects who had reportedly assaulted their grandmother with a long gun at a Clare County address.

When officers arrived at the Wise Township home, the two teens ran into the woods, officers said. They were tracked to an address on Chippewa Road and taken into custody there without incident.

One of the two suspects was carrying an Airsoft BB gun.

The investigation determined that there was another incident earlier involving the two and their grandmother, 60, who they live with.

During the investigation, officers found that the incidents began at the home in Wise Township when the two teens became upset because their grandmother had disabled the vehicle and left the keys with a friend in Clare County.  Neither of the teens has a valid driver’s license, officers said.

After a physical confrontation at their Wise Township home, the juvenile pointed a gun at his grandmother and she agreed to take both teens to the Clare County residence to retrieve the keys and an auto part.

Another altercation and an assault happened there, officers said.

Clare County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating the second assault that happened at the Clare County residence. Mt. Pleasant troopers are investigating the first incident, they said.

Krohn-Wood was lodged at the Isabella County Jail on charges of Resisting and Obstructing Police and Operating in Violation of a Restricted License (violation of a learner’s permit). He was arraigned Tuesday on the charges in Isabella County Court, and his bond was set at $5,000/10 percent. He remains lodged at the Isabella County Jail.

His brother, whose name was not released, was taken to an Isabella County Juvenile Facility where he is facing charges of Felonious Assault, Domestic Violence and Resisting and Obstructing Police.

Additional charges are also pending in Clare County.
