Timmy Berger of Harrison made the long trek to Lancaster, Pennsylvania to attend the Telephone Collectors International Show and Swap on June 7, 2014. The nine year old Hillside Elementary student joined 275 collectors from across the U.S. and Canada who displayed, swapped equipment and reminisced about the early days of the industry. The youngest collector at the show, Berger received a blue ribbon TCI award for his display.
Timmy, who will enter fourth grade in the fall became interested in phones and communication equipment over five years ago when he visited the Montrose Historical and Telephone Pioneer Museum in Montrose, Michigan. In addition to collecting vintage telephones, he is involved with vintage snowmobiles.
