The Lion’s Club in Harrison was the site of an unusual event last Saturday, when it hosted its 3rd annual Men’ Beauty Pageant. The crowd of over about 200 cheered, whistled and roared with laughter, as 5 candidates vied for the title of queen. The Lions expect to surpass the $1200.00 that was raised last year by this event. The funds raised by the Lions will go to support several charities as well as providing glasses for those who need them.
First the “Ladies” posed in the swim suit competition, followed by the evening gown session. After being interviewed by the panel of judges, led by Clare County Sheriff John Wilson, a winner was announced. Luke Tesnar, stage name, “Mustang Sally” and sponsored by the Hayes Township Line Dancers was crowned “Queen” by last year’s winner “Franchesca.”
