The Farwell Marching Band have had a good season so far

October 31, 2011

The Farwell Marching Band have had quite a season so far.  During August the band traveled to Gladwin to spend a week at band camp learning their marching routines. This year the Farwell Band Boosters purchased new marching jackets for the Farwell Band.  The band was able to receive these new jackets in time to wear them in the Mt. Pleasant Mardi Gras Parade.

Along with performing during half-time at the home football games, the Farwell Marching Band have traveled this fall to perform at the Cadillac Marching Band Review and the Midland Marching Band Showcase.  Band students were able to participate in the CMU Band Day held down at Central Michigan University.

The Farwell Band also participated in the Alma Marching Band Competition in which Farwell Marching Band took 3rd place out of the Class C schools that performed.  The Farwell Color Guard took 1st place during this competition.

On Tuesday, October 18th the band performed their half time show with the “lights out” after the powder puff football game.  Farwell Bands are under the direction of T Paul Shimmons and the Color Guard is under the direction of Paula Sullivan.
