Toys sought for needy

October 31, 2014

Project Kids Christmas Outreach is fast approaching and donations of NEW unwrapped toys for children ages newborn to 12 are greatly needed for Clare County families.  Gifts play a big role in the lives of children at Christmas time. Many families struggle just to put food on the table, so Christmas gifts aren’t always an option. Purchasing gifts for these families brings joy to the children that they might not otherwise experience.

Project Kids Christmas Outreach is scheduled for Saturday, December 6th, and will be held at the Harrison Lions Club in Harrison.  Families attending will have the opportunity to pick out and wrap a new toy valued at $15-20 for each child in their household.  They will also receive a generous food donation, stocking stuffers, a blanket, and a hat.  New or gently used coats are also being collected for this event.

Other items needed for this year’s event are new blankets and new and gently used coats for children and adults.  If you have questions, contact the Department of Human Services at 989-539-4258. Thank you Clare County residents!
