Twenty-first Annual Barbecue and Fall Festival

August 30, 2013

8-30-13 MMCC festival 2012Tickets are now on sale for Mid Michigan Community College’s Twenty-first Annual Barbecue and Fall Festival sponsored by Glen’s Markets and Family Fare Supermarkets.  This event will take place on Sunday, September 15th from noon to 4PM.  The annual BBQ brings the community together to raise funds for student scholarships.

“There are a number of new things that we’re very excited about,” said Carol Darlington, event co-chair. “Rocks and Valleys Off-Road Park is sponsoring a Park-It/Show-It Off-Road show.   We are looking forward to the front lawn of the campus being filled with off-road vehicles this year. If you have a Jeep, 4×4 trucks, a sand rail, or another vehicle you take off-roading we would like to have it become part of our show.  Also this year will be two additional Timber Trail runs that will challenge running enthusiasts. A half-marathon and a 10K run will be added to the annual 5K run/walk.”

The Fall Festival, which takes place on MMCC’s Harrison Campus, includes a pork dinner with all the trimmings, compliments of Glen’s Markets and Family Fare Supermarkets.  In addition to great food, there are activities for the entire family, including live bands, children’s games, train rides, and much more.  A large number of health care vendors will be on site for a health fair and health screenings, and the Clare County Arts Council will showcase the artwork of local artists.

Tickets cost $5 in advance and $7 on the day of the event.   Tickets are available at all MMCC bookstores, Family Fare Supermarkets in Gladwin and Harrison, Valu Land in Clare, Chemical Banks in Clare, Farwell, Beaverton, and at their downtown locations in Gladwin and Harrison.  For more information, or to register for any of the events, visit our website at or contact Carol Darlington at 989-386-6625.
