Two charged with stealing holiday packages

After the Isabella County Sheriff’s Office got a complaint reporting the theft of a package from the front porch of a residence in Union Township, security camera footage led to the arrest of two people.

According to a press release on Friday, December 21st, The ICSO put out a request on social media asking for help and several tips were received, and soon after that the suspect in the photo posted came into the Sheriff’s Office with some stolen items.

With information on the thefts, officers obtained a search warrant for a home in Mt. Pleasant where they found more stolen items.

Two people were arrested and charged with receiving and concealing stolen property.

Officers are looking for several other people suspected in the thefts and are investigating information from other agencies in the county who have had similar complaints.

They urged anyone with a complaint of items delivered but taken from their porch or front door to call Central Dispatch at 989-773-1000 and report it.
