All Clare area veterans, and all who would like to honor them are invited to come to the Clare High School gym November 11.
This will the 9th annual Veteran’s Day Program and Luncheon, an event started in 2007 by former Principal and Veteran Lee Turner.
Principal Ed Hubel said, ““The Clare High School Veterans Day program will be entirely student driven.  The Clare staff and student body are honored to be able to thank our local veterans on this day.”

Nine National Honor Society members will host the ceremonies and four seniors are scheduled to speak at the event.
The program will feature musical selections by the Clare High School band and performances by six student vocalists.
Miss Anderson’s Art program students will provide all of the decorations and will have a selection of their art pieces on display.
Jan Cleary’s business classes will provide video and audio for the event with the help of Sound Productions.

Miss Morris’s ninth grade English students will also be there to present attendees with some of their own original poetry, Said Principal Hubel.
Clare area veterans of active and reserve service and their guest are cordially invited to attend the event. The program will start at 9 a.m. in the high school gym and the central theme of the program will be to “thank our veterans for their service.”

A luncheon for the attending veterans will immediately follow the CHS program at Ponderosa Restaurant in Clare. Ponderosa will provide a meal – free – for all veterans beginning at approximately 10:30 a.m.

Veterans are asked to contact the high school office at 386-7789 to give their names, their branches of service and their plans to attend the luncheon.
