Wale named Student of Month

4-19-13 Ashlee Wale named Timberland Student of the MonthAshlee Wale, daughter of Farwell residents Keith and Sherry Wale, was honored as the Timberland Student of the Month at the Farwell Board of Education meeting held last Monday evening at the Garfield Township Hall in Lake.

Clare County Sheriff’s Department Officer Erica Vredevelt spoke  of Ashlee and her amazing achievements to the crowd in attendance at Monday night’s meeting.

“Ashlee has come full circle from when she first realized she was behind in her graduation requirements,” Vredevelt commented.  “As of today, she is now on track to graduate.  She has also been a Clare County Sheriff’s Department explorer for the last five years.”

After she graduates from Timberland, Ashlee plans to attend Mid Michigan Community College for her Associates Degree.  From there she plans to enroll at Grand Valley State University to complete her Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology.

Ashlee has also been awarded the Turn Around Student of the Year Award for the Farwell School District given by Mid Michigan Community College to the student who has made outstanding strides in turning their academic lives around for the better.  For this honor she will receive a six credit hour scholarship to be used in her freshman year at MMCC this fall.
