Kristine Geeck, owner of Kristine’s Hair and Tan in Clare, and Business Co-Chair Kasie Vansicklen are “holding a special event to celebrate life and all of the challenges that come with it.”
Kristine said, “We are looking for nominations from friends and family of special people, those who have gone through a great loss, given their time to care for a loved one recovering from an illness; who have, without complaints or asking for help, have given their time to help others, those who have been struggling with a loss, low self-esteem, an illness or have just been completely down on their luck.”
“We want to know their story,” Kristine said. “There are also other kind people in the area that have donated gifts and service and we will recognize them for their generosity.”
Written nominations with a photo can be sent to Kristine’s at 206 South McEwan Street, Clare, MI 48617; emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org; or dropped off at the salon any time before the end of March.
Everyone nominated will receive a gift, and one special winner, the subject of “the most compelling story,” will be chosen by Kristine, Kasie and an independent judge and announced during the first week of April. “That winner will receive a complete make-over and other special gifts to show our appreciation and recognize what they do for others.”
Kristine’s, in business in Clare since 1995, is located on the south side of Clare at the top of the hill. Their hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for hair and until 6:30 p.m. for tanning. On Saturday they are open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Kristine has two employees, Kasie and Joyce.
Contact Kristine at 386-6170 for more information about the Makeover contest. She said she is still looking for donations from businesses and individuals to be awarded to the nominees.
